Privacy Policy

Overview

Orbl is built around a simple idea: your desktop should feel alive without sending your life to a server. The macOS app runs entirely on your Mac. We do not operate a backend that stores your activity, widgets, notes, or integration data.

This policy explains what the Orbl app does on your device, what happens when you use this website or buy a license, and what limited network requests may occur.

What stays on your Mac

Usage patterns, widget settings, sticky notes, local aggregates, and similar data are stored on your Mac (for example in Application Support and the macOS Keychain). We do not receive or store this information.

No account required

Orbl does not require you to create an account with us. There is no Orbl login, no cloud sync, and no first-party analytics in the app.

Optional permissions

Some features request Apple system permissions only when you enable them, such as Calendar (meeting countdown), Location (weather and sunrise/sunset), Accessibility (typing rhythm and input activity counts), and Reminders. You can deny any permission and still use Orbl with built-in widgets.

API keys and integrations

If you add integration credentials or a license key, they are stored in the macOS Keychain on your device. When an integration is enabled, Orbl calls the third-party service (for example Stripe, GitHub, or ChartMogul) directly from your Mac using those credentials. We do not proxy or log those requests.

Network requests from the app

The app may make limited outbound requests, including:

• Weather — Open-Meteo for local conditions (no API key; coarse location only when Location is enabled).
• Integrations — Direct calls to services you configure (Stripe, GitHub, etc.).
• License validation — Dodo Payments (live.dodopayments.com) to activate and verify your integration license key.
• App updates — Opens orbl.app in your browser when you choose Download latest in Settings → About.
• Quote / history widgets — Public APIs for quote-of-the-day or on-this-day content, if you enable those widgets.

Apart from these, Orbl does not transmit your desktop activity, keystroke content, or personal files to us.

This website (orbl.app)

When you visit orbl.app, standard web hosting logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed) may be collected by our hosting provider to operate and secure the site. We do not use third-party advertising trackers on this site.

License purchases

If you buy an integration license on this site, payment is processed by Dodo Payments. We receive information needed to fulfill your purchase (such as email address and payment status). Dodo's handling of payment data is governed by their privacy policy. Dodo delivers your license key by email. For help with purchases or Orbl Premium, reach out on X @manoj_ahi.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not build advertising profiles from Orbl usage.
• We do not read Apple Screen Time or record your screen.
• We do not store your integration API responses on our servers.

Children

Orbl is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when we do.
